ATASCOSA VETERANS COUNCIL™ Excellence in all we do


The Atascosa Veteran Council™ (AVC) is a subordinate unit of the US Veteran Council™ (USVC), a 501(c)19 Non-
QUAERITE. VERITAS LIBERABIT VOS.
AVC was established to assist veterans in Atascosa County on 05/05/2017. On 09/02/2017, AVC indirectly became associated with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), during this time, the organization was known publicly as “Pleasanton VFW Post 12162”. On 02/11/2019, evolving from a contractual dispute, AVC’s membership unanimously elected to terminate all association with the VFW. Today AVC is the youngest and most active VSO in Atascosa County.
Our mission is to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts and to serve our veterans, the military and our communities and advocate on behalf of all veterans. The purposes of the US Veteran Council™ is fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable, and educational; to preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members; to assist worthy comrades; to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead, and to assist their surviving spouses and orphans; to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of America, and fidelity to its institutions of American freedom, and to preserve and defend the United States from all enemies.
